Jared's 9th Birthday

Crazy kid, decorated his own cake with a whole jar of sprinkles.  Each bit was very crunchy, but colorful!
I'm not sure what he wished for this year, but the look on his face leads me to believe it's something really exciting.
Of course, dad had to get in the birthday spanks.
We knew he was really just wanting money to buy a big item, but Corey wanted to conceal it in a special way.  So he rolled up the bills and shoved them into the battery compartment of the yellow flashlight.  Jared thought all he got from us was a flashlight.  This went on for about 20 minutes, then Corey asked him to come shine his light outside.  Once Jared discovered it didn't work, he ran back inside to get batteries for it.  To his surprise, there was the money.  He was so excited.  He's put all the money gifts together and has had quite the time trying to decide what to buy.  Finally, he asked me to just put all the money in his savings account.  He's my saver.  He has a really hard time parting with money.

Valentine's Day Parties

Jaydon's class exchanged Valentine's and decorated cookies and bags to carry their Valentines.
Jared's class made ice cream sundaes and had lots of other goodies to eat.
Josh's class also made sundaes but had brownies and cookies to add to the ice cream.  Now that's my kind of sundae.

Disney and Company

Kami and I took Jaydon and Cassie to a Disney and Company show.  They loved it!!  Jaydon has a mouth full of popcorn here.
It had all the regular Disney characters and special ones too, like, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Cinderella.
Jaydon loved seeing Buzz fly through the air!
The props for the show were so creative and colorful.

Bowling with Grandparents

Since it was in between Jaydon and Jared's birthdays, we went bowling while Rog and Renee were here.  We had a great time.  Jaydon is quite the little bowler, even when it's real bowling and not Wii bowling.  Here are a few pictures of our day.
Maybe that wasn't a very good ball, by the look on his face.
Show off!
Jaydon has quite the form.

Comfort

Bandit often lays with his feet behind him and this time they were crossed.  I guess he was comfy!!

This is how Jaydon sleeps in our bed...East to West.  Unfortunately, that only leaves inches for Corey and me.  He had about a weeks worth of bad dreams and joined us every night at about 3:30 a.m.

January 2010

This year I am taking a different approach to my photos.  I will not be taking a "picture of the day" and instead will be taking random photos for the month.

I started cleaning out cabinets on Jan. 2 and re-organizing everything.  These are the locked toy cabinets in the toy room.  I guess I should do an after picture also.

Josh had his buddy Jace over today after school and they decided to snow board down the back hill.  They are getting pretty good and should try it on a real "hill"!
Our puppy is growing so fast.  Of course, he still gets into everyone's things.  Here he is toting off one of the kid's socks.  He likes to carry them around, but hasn't chewed anything up yet!

Jaydon had his buddy Nathan over to play Wii.  Here they are playing the Toy Story game in 3D, thus the glasses.  They have a lot of fun together and will both be going to kindergarten at the same school next year.

12-28-09 to 12-31-09 Monday to Thursday

Monday when we got back to the farm, Grandma Doris had one more present to give.  She got Bandit a doggie sweater.  I think he really appreciated it in that blistering cold weather we were having.

Tuesday the kids were still playing inside with their toys.  Jaydon and Cassie were rockin out.  Cassie was singing a song she just made up.

Wednesday the Huskers played in the Holiday Bowl and won BIG!!!!!!  We were going to head back to Denver today, but our van was making some weird noises.  So we stayed and Corey and one of Dad's neighbors worked on it.

Meanwhile, I pulled the kids sledding.  They had a great time, even though it was still pretty cold.  Dad scooped a trail in the big drifts with his blue tractor.  I was glad the Polaris has a heater in it!  I stayed pretty toasty while pulling them around.

Thursday...12-31-09...Ah...the last day of the year.  We came back to Denver today.  It took quite a while to get everything unpacked and back to normal.  We usually host a New Year's Eve party at our house for our neighbors and friends, but this year we just couldn't.  So, the Gallagher's offered and we all had a great time at their house.  The best party game even invented is "Catch Phrase"!  We get that our whenever we have a party and everyone has a great time!  Oh, this year I decided to display Christmas photos and cards on my metal wall hanging that you see when you come in my front door.
