8-29-09 to 8-30-09 Saturday and Sunday

Sunday: Our church celebrated their 35 Anniversary with a picnic and dance. Everything was free, food, snow cones, inflatable obstacle course, arts, krafts, games, and beer!! Everyone had a wonderful time!! Josh and Joe (he plays on our football team) must have had at least 5 snow cones.
Saturday: GAME 1 We played an Arvada team and WON 40-25. The kids really had a great time and so did the coaches! What a great way to start the season and build team confidence.

8-25-09 to 8-28-09 Tuesday to Friday

Friday: I bought 3 electrice toothbrushes at Costco today and Jaydon loves his. I'm afraid the battery will be dead by tomorrow. He's even sleeping with it tonight. Crazy kid!
Thursday: Jared and Jaydon built tents all afternoon and played in them. They wanted to sleep in them, but it's a school night. I remember doing this as a kid, so I don't mind if they make a mess. It's great play time!!!
Wednesday: We scrimmaged a team from Superior tonight. It was a great way for the kids to get the jitters out of the way and the coaches definately saw some areas that needed work. This pass was actually completed during the scrimmage!
Tuesday: 1st Day of Preschool Jaydon started preschool again, at the same school he went to last year. The twins across the street from us are also in his class. Jaydon asked all summer if it was August yet. I think he really missed school and is happy to be going again.

8-22-09 to 8-24-09 Saturday to Monday

Monday: 1st Day of School Jared has Mrs. Pennington this year (same Josh had last year). He's excited to be in school again and see his friends.
Monday: 1st Day of School!!!! Josh's teacher this year is Mr. Knight! He's awesome and Josh is really looking forward to a great year!
Sunday: Happy birthday, babe!!! And yes, that is facial hair!!
Saturday: We had a neighborhood BBQ for Corey's birthday. Sylvia baked and decorated this walleye cake for him.

8-18-09 to 8-21-09 Tuesday to Friday

Friday: Rocky Mountain Regional Airport, just a few miles north of us, is having an airshow over the weekend. This fighter jet practiced his routine this afternoon and came right over our house. We sat on the hill in our backyard and enjoyed the show for free!!!
Thursday: Jared was evaluated by a behavioral optomitrist and determined he needs glasses. He's far sighted and his eyes to not track the same close object, such as a word when he is reading. So the glasses have a prism in them to keep his eyes focused on the same thing. He is also supposed to start vision therapy, but our schedule is crazy until football is over, so we will wait until it slows down a bit. He looks pretty handsome, I think!
Wednesday: Jaydon was helping Nick down the slippy slide!
Tueday: My hibiscus bush is full of bloom and some have opened! It's so pretty!

8-14-09 to 8-17-09 Friday to Monday

Sunday: These Russian Sage bushes got really big this summer and are hiding the view of the flower box from the house. I'll have to move the sage this fall.
Monday: Got stuff in the Dr's office and had to keep Jaydon occupied for a while. Finally ended up giving him my lipstick...he was really excited to put it on.
Saturday: Jaydon was playing squirt gun wars with our neighbor and eventually ran over and grabbed the hose. That's when you know he's getting serious.
Friday: Football practice started with week with conditioning. Monday is full contact and the kids are excited. We are looking forward to a fun year!!!!

8-10-09 to 8-13-09 Monday to Thursday

Thursday: Today was salsa day. Used up the tomatoes and made a huge bowl of salsa. After straining off the juice (3 quarts) I only had 1 1/2 quarts of salsa.
Wednesday: I took Jared, Cade, and Josh to the Museum of Nature and Science FREE day. It was a little crowded, but we had a good time viewing exhibits.
Tuesday: Of course, the tomatoes all ripen at the same time! Guess it's time for salsa.
Monday: Jaydon's version of Battleship is not quite the same as everyone else's. He just like putting the pegs on the ships...and the red ones are the prettiest.

M.I.A.

So I've been a little busy lately. Football started, I'm the team manager, Corey's a coach, and Josh and Jared are both playing. Needless to say, we've been running a lot the last 2 weeks. School starts Monday for the big boys and Tuesday for Jaydon. They are ALL actually excited this year for school to start. I'm ready for the schedule again. Josh is in 4th grade, Jared 3rd, and Jaydon still a preschooler. He loves school so much, I'm sure he could go all day, but he will only be in school for 2.5 hours, 4 days a week (same as last year). Jared had an eye exam yesterday and needs glasses for reading and homework. I'll be sure to post a picture of him. He looks like a little stud muffin with his glasses on, very handsome...and somewhat studious! I still have to get the others boys checked out. I'm hoping to get pictures posted SOON!

8-8-09 to 8-9-09 Saturday & Sunday

8-9-09 Sunday: I always hate packing up to go home. We had such a great time on our 2nd Anuual McConaughy trip. This year we did it right and got a group photo. It will be fun to see how the kids change each year. I think we are already booking our camp sites for next year.
8-8-09 Saturday: Today was our Goddaughter Kenli Boeselager's 4th birthday. We had a party for her in our camper (14 people in a 5th wheel). Balloons, rice crispy treats with candles, party hats, and presents...sounds like a party to me!

8-5-09 to 8-7-09 Wednesday to Friday

8-7-09 Friday: We rented wave runners today and played on them for 8 hours straight. Then they just had to break out the football and have a little boy time. Nice catch Bob! Josh and Logan were walking a trail in the talk grass and heard a rattle snake. They came back to the camper and got Steve, who killed it and gave the kids the rattle. It wasn't too far from our camper and was coiled and ready to strike. I'm so glad those boys recognized the sound and came for help. Now they have a great story to tell and the rattle to prove it! 8-6-09 Thursday: Nothing like soaking in the water in the hot summer sun.
8-5-09 Wednesday: We played all day while waiting for Tiensvolds and Boeselagers to arrive. Josh, Jared, and I tubed across the lake.

8-2-9 to 8-4-09 Sunday to Tuesday

8-4-09 Tuesday: Everyone left last evening so we are on our own...but still having fun. It was a little windy today so we didn't launch the boat. We played at the beach and in the water. Traditionally, the boys all take off running into the water as soon as we arrive at the beach!
8-3-09 Monday: We had 10 people stay at our camper last night. I love it! We all had so much fun in the sand and water. The lake was like glass, so we took advantage of it and skied a lot!
8-2-09 Sunday: Day 1 at Big Mac. The RV and boat pulled great behind the pick-up and we were pleased with the trip. We hit the beach as soon as we were set up. My cousin Corby and Nicki Leeper and their kids, Sami and Bryant, met us at the lake and played in the water together. Mom and Dad met us with Josh and Jared and Kami also came. We had Cade and Cassie with us, so we had quite a crew at the beach. Love having fun with family.

8-1-09 Saturday

Cade and Cassie are spending the night with us tonight and we are taking them to Big mac with us in the morning. Then mom will meet us with Josh and Jared and stay the night. She's taking Cade and Cassie to the ranch for a week. Jaydon is really missing his big brothers, so it's a good thing his cousins came up today.
FYI: I will not be posting until we get back from the lake on Aug. 9. So you might not see anything until the week of the 10th. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to share with you then!

7-31-09 Friday

It's so hard to get ready for a week long camping trip. I've been menu planning and grocery shopping all week, and now the loading must begin. This is just one of the storage compartments under the dinette bench. I will feel like it's vacation as soon as we pull down the street and all the prep work is done.
